A round, plump little bird sits alone on a plain cream background, its yellow head and breast rendered in fine hatched pencil strokes and its wing feathers textured in soft blue-green cross-hatching. The perch beneath its feet is only lightly sketched in graphite, left unfinished so the bird itself takes full focus.
